The City of Greater Sudbury invites citizens to share their ideas to help build a new plan that will support a strong local arts and cultural community. A public survey is available online at www.greatersudburyculture.ca until Monday, May 5, 2014. Citizens who don’t have access to a computer, or who prefer to fill out the survey in writing, may do so by visiting any branch of the Greater Sudbury Public Library.

A 44 year old Killarney man faces 3 weapons charges. The OPP from Sudbury and Noelville, along with the OPP Emergency Reponses Team and the Canine Unit responded to a complaint of gunshots fired on Thursday just after 10:00pm.

A former elementary school in Sudbury is a big step closer to being reborn as a medical research centre, thanks to new funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC).
The NOHFC is contributing $4.9 million to the Advanced Medical Research Institute of Canada (AMRIC), for its project to convert the former St. Theresa’s School on Walford Road into a 14,000-square-foot research facility.

As we reported, the Heartbleed Bug was responsible for Canada Revenue Acency shutting down the sucure portion of their website on Wednesday. The shut down affects access to online accounts for both individuals and business and also include such tax services as NETFILE and EFILE.
There are a number of other government organiations that are likely as valnerable as the CRA.
It's estimate that over two third of all production webservers are running the affected software, OpenSSL.
