On the 2nd of October 2016, at approximately 9:50 pm, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Services Uniform Division were called to attend the intersection of Municipal Road # 35, near Montee Principal, in Azilda. When officers arrived they observed a vehicle in the ditch. Further investigation determined this vehicle had been travelling west bound on MR #35 when the driver lost control and ended up in the ditch. Officers had conversation with the driver and quickly identified signs of impairment. While at the road side, the 26 year old male driver provided a breath sample into an Approved Screening Device and failed. He was arrested for having Care and Control of a motor vehicle while impaired and returned to the police Head Quarters. There he provided additional breath samples that were in excess of the legal limit. As a result, the accused stands charged with the following offences:
-Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired
-Excess over 80 Mgs
The accused was released by was of a Promise to Appear with a Court date later this month.
