Updated: Collision Kingsway at Second Ave

Update March 20, 2014 2:00pm - Please be advised that the intersection Kingsway at Second Ave. has been cleared and it is open to traffic. 


Update:

The Greater Sudbury Police Service`s Traffic Management Unit continues to investigate a collision, Kingsway at Second Ave., which involved a police SUV and a pick-up truck.

The police officer is being treated in hospital for injuries not of a serious nature, while the driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Traffic is being re-routed as follows:

- E/B through traffic only on Kinsgway is open

- W/B re-routed to N/B on Falconbridge Rd

- S/B Falconbridge Rd closed

- N/B Second Ave. re-routed through the box-stores (Donna and Markus) then to Kinsgway / Barrydowne

A serious Motor Vehicle Collision between 2 vehicles has occurred shortly before 6 am at Second Avenue and Kingsway. At this time most of the lanes are closed to traffic including the Southbound lane on Second Ave and the Westbound lane on the Kingsway.

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes due to the closure of this area to alleviate traffic issues.
