Reminder – Tax Refund Notification Scam

At a time when most citizens are getting ready to fill out their Income Tax forms, the Greater Sudbury Police Service reminds everyone of a scam where individuals are being advised, via email, that they are entitled to a refund of a specific amount and / or their tax assessment has been verified and they are eligible to receive a tax refund. These e-mails often have Canada Revenue Agency logos or internet links and appear very official.

The following is one such fraudulent email, received locally, that has not been sent or authorized by the Canada Revenue Agency.
