Celebrating their common history on EarthDay

Sudbury’s École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur and the University of Sudbury celebrated their common history and links during an Earth Day event on April 22. Their collaboration will allow them to plant 100 trees, generously donated by Collège Boréal, on the grounds of École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur.

St. Charles Elementary School Volunteers Recognized as Champions for Children

On Wednesday, April 24, a special group of people from St. Charles Catholic Elementary were recognized for their dedication to the school. The 2014 Volunteer awards for the Champions for Children were handed out by Our Children Our Future at an awards celebration and the volunteers for the school’s snack program won the group award for this event.

Sacré-Coeur student receives Aboriginal Youth Award

Mélanie-Rose Frappier, a grade 11 student at École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur in Sudbury, was honoured during the Gathering Our Voices 2014 Aboriginal Youth Conference. Held in Vancouver from March 18 to 21, this conference brought together some 2,000 youths (14 to 24 years of age) as well as presenters and guests.
