Rainbow Schools receive CIM funding for science and technology

Students at five Rainbow Schools will share in a total of $20,145 in funding from the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, Sudbury Branch. Funding will benefit students at Algonquin Road Public School, Markstay Public School, Confederation Secondary School, Lively District Secondary School and Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School.

École Ste-Marie and École Saint-Joseph students finish 4th and 5th at the provincial Cardboard Boat Race competition

On March 5, three teams representing the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) took part in the Elementary Provincial Cardboard Boat Races held in Waterloo. CSCNO students were very successful among the 21 competing teams with École Ste-Marie (Azilda) finishing 4th overall, while the teams from École Saint-Joseph (Wawa) finished 5th and École Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford) was 12th.

Canadian Red Cross picks winners for Northern Raffle

Canadian Red Cross held its 19th annual Northern Raffle draw at the Sudbury branch on March 26.

A total of 14,500 tickets were sold across Northern Ontario.

City of Greater Sudbury seeking Feedback from Residents for the Parks, Open Space, and Leisure Master Plan

The Parks, Open Space and Leisure Master Plan, completed in 2004, provided a guideline for the development of parks, open space and leisure facilities for the City of Greater Sudbury. Input from public consultations and community groups helped to shape the direction of the Master Plan and identify priorities for our community. Many of the recommendations within the 2004 Master Plan have been addressed and now the City would like to review the plan and update the information so that it can best address the present needs of the community.
