The Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) would like to advise the public of upcoming traffic disruptions in the downtown area of Greater Sudbury.

Police Week was officially launched Monday at the Community Safety and Well-being Planning forum. Representatives from the City of Greater Sudbury, Sudbury Healthy Community Cabinet, the Greater Sudbury Police Services and partners from the human and social services sectors, municipal officers, community-based organizations and residents gathered to begin the process of developing comprehensive and integrated framework for community safety and well-being planning

ORILLIA, ON, May 12, 2014 - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reporting that off-road vehicle (ORV) deaths have reached a four-year high and the causal factors have the OPP concerned heading into the Victoria Day Long Weekend.

R.I.D.E. checks this weekend by Greater Sudbury Police produced two of impaired drivers resulting in 90 day license suspensions. One driver stopped during the R.I.D.E check registered a warning on the approved screening device and due to the fact it was this driver’s second time being caught in the warn range the driver had his license suspended for 7 days.

UPDATED: The missing man has been located in the Autumwood Cres. Area and appears to be in good health. The Greater Sudbury Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter!

The Greater Sudbury Police Service has partnered with 11 drug stores / pharmacies that have agreed to participate in this year`s Drug Drop-Off Day Event.

On Saturday May 3^rd, between 9 am and 11 am, there was a Clean-Up Blitz conducted by local residents of the Wiltshire Street area in Minnow Lake.

 

On Saturday morning May 3rd, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Drug Enforcement Unit, K9 Unit and Uniform Division conducted a Proactive sweep of a local bus terminal on Notre Dame.

Greater Sudbury Police have provided new information in their investigation into two shooting that occurred in Greater Sudbury this week.

GSPS are investigating  a collision which occurred on the 1^st of May between 1:00-2:00AM in the area of 700 Paris Street.  A lone adult male was walking on the sidewalk.
