Train Derailment Near Gogama

The derailment occurred around 2:30am on March 7th, 2015 about 4 km southwest of Gogama where approximately 10 cars derailed. There were no injuries and Gogama Fire Department was called to the scene.

The westbound curb lane of the Kingsway will remain closed through to tomorrow morning for repairs to a watermain break. It is expected that repairs will be completed by rush hour tomorrow, but motorists are advised that delays may be possible.

Tanya Quesnel, a grade 12 student at Sudbury’s École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur, won her third silver medal at the Canada Games in Prince Georges, British Columbia. On February 26, Tanya placed 2nd in the 5 km sit-ski para female race.
