The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant as result of their Breach of Parole.
Home invasion occurred at a residence on Walter Street in Coniston shortly after 9 pm on Monday March 16. The victims are an elderly couple both in their 80's. The suspect approached the residence and gained entry by knocking on the door.
This week, the Greater Sudbury Police Services Board convened an in-camera meeting to consider the findings contained in a recently released report by Ontario’s Chief Electoral Officer that Gerry Lougheed Jr. may have contravened the Ontario Elections Act in relation to private tape recorded conversations between Mr. Lougheed Jr. and Mr. Andrew Olivier. Mr. Lougheed was not present during this session.

On the 21st of February 2015, at approximately 1:45pm, members of Greater Sudbury Police Services Uniform Division were called to attend a commercial business premise located on Foundry Road, at the east end of Lasalle Boulevard, with respect to a theft in progress complaint.
On Monday February 16th, shortly after 8 pm, there was a single motor vehicle collision on Dennie St, Hanmer of a motorized snow vehicle driving into a telephone pole.
Shortly after 10:30 pm Friday February 6th, a lone male entered a convenience store in Copper Cliff, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.
On the 14th of October 2014, members of the GSPS Criminal Investigations Division completed their investigation into allegations of historical sexual assaults. Seven victims have come forward and the allegations stem from events that began in 1992 and continued until 2013.

Shortly before 6 pm on Wednesday January 28th, there was a motor vehicle collision between a car and a van at the intersection of Railway Ave and Sellwood Ave, Capreol. Police, Fire and EMS attended.
Today is the anniversary date of the Renee Sweeney homicide that occurred on the 27th of January 1998.
Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service continue to investigate the Renee Sweeney homicide and would like members of the public to be aware that the investigation is ongoing.
