On Wednesday April 16th shortly after 8 pm, officers in the Drug Enforcement Unit observed a party known to them to be wanted on an outstanding Immigration Warrant. The 37 year old man was arrested without incident.

A train derailment this morning on the Huron Central main line just east of Nairn Centre caused a leak of diesel fuel into the adjacent wetland.
At the present time, it is not certain whether any of the fuel reached the Spanish River.
As a precaution the Sudbury & District Health Unit is advising those who take their drinking water from the Spanish River or from wells supplied by the river not use that water until further notice.
